Recycled & Reclaimed Teak Perth
Teak Decking Supplies
Timber Decking Supply Shed is Perth’s most reputable supplier of recycled and reclaimed teak. Teak is highly regarded for its exceptional durability, strength, and natural resistance to decay and rot. It is one of the most valuable and sought-after hardwoods in the world.

Is Our Teak Decking Eco-Friendly?
Timber Decking Supply Shed has an ongoing supply of recycled and reclaimed teak that is perfect for almost any application. Most of the teak decking available on the market today is sourced from plantation timber harvested from young small trees. However, our teak is predominantly sourced from remote rural areas of Indonesia and old-growth timber, making it a great eco-friendly option.
Colour & Characteristics
The colour of recycled and reclaimed teak timber can vary depending on several factors, including the age of the wood and its exposure to sunlight and weathering. When freshly cut, teak has a rich, golden-brown colour with hues ranging from light to dark brown. This warm, vibrant tone is highly prized and often associated with teak wood.
However, when exposed to the elements, teak undergoes a natural weathering process, gradually turning into a silvery-grey colour. This weathered appearance results from the wood’s exposure to sunlight, rain, and other environmental factors. The silver-grey patina is a characteristic feature of aged teak and is often considered desirable in outdoor applications such as furniture and decking.
It’s worth noting that the natural colour of teak can be restored through regular cleaning and maintenance or by applying teak oils and sealants that enhance its original golden-brown hue. Some individuals prefer maintaining the wood’s original colour, while others appreciate the weathered look and allow the teak to age naturally.
Strength & Uses
Teak is considered one of the strongest hardwoods available. Here are some reasons why teak is highly regarded for its strength and durability:
Density: Teak wood is dense, contributing to its strength and durability. The density of teak makes it highly resistant to warping, cracking, and splitting.
Natural Oils and Rubber Compounds: Teak contains natural oils and rubber compounds that act as preservatives. These oils and compounds give teak inherent resistance to decay, rot, pests, and termites. The natural oils also help to repel water, making teak highly resistant to water damage.
Weather Resistance: Teak has excellent weather resistance properties. It is resistant to sun, rain, and temperature fluctuations. This makes it well-suited for outdoor applications, including boat building, decking, and furniture.
Long Lifespan: Due to its natural durability and resistance to decay, teak has a long lifespan. Properly maintained teak products can last for decades, even in harsh environments.
Due to its strength and durability, teak has been used for centuries in applications that require long-lasting and resilient wood. These include shipbuilding, outdoor furniture, decking, flooring, panelling, doors, and other high-demand applications.

Maintenance & Care
Teak is relatively low maintenance compared to other woods. Its natural oils contribute to its self-maintenance, requiring minimal treatment or sealing. Regular cleaning and occasional application of teak oil can help maintain its appearance and extend its lifespan.
