We combine over 25 years of hands-on decking experience with high-quality materials and honest advice. As a locally owned and operated Perth business, we focus on helping you get the right products for your project, not just selling timber.
I’m Paul, the owner-operator, and I’ve spent more than 25 years building timber decks and structures across Perth and WA. That experience allows me to give practical, real-world advice you can trust.
Yes, I provide free expert advice to help you choose the best timber, composite, and hardware for your specific project, budget, and environment.
We insist on premium quality. Most of our timber is delivered to us first so we can inspect it before it reaches you. If it doesn’t meet our standards, we send it back, simple as that.
If you’re not happy with the quality when it arrives, let us know. We’ll organise a replacement, because we stand behind what we supply.

General Decking Supplies FAQs
I recommend choosing a supplier with real decking experience, not just a warehouse. You want someone who understands Perth conditions and can guide you on the right materials.
In WA, I usually recommend hardwoods like Merbau, Jarrah, Spotted Gum, or Ironbark. They handle the heat well and offer excellent durability.
It depends on your needs. Timber gives you a natural look and feel, while composite offers lower maintenance. I help customers select the best option specifically for their needs.
Look for consistency in colour, minimal defects, and proper grading. A reputable supplier will also inspect timber before selling it, not all do.
You’ll typically need structural supports, fixings like screws or bolts, stirrups, and balustrading components. Getting the right hardware is just as important as choosing the right timber.
No, and this is a common mistake. You need fixings that meet Australian standards and are suited to outdoor conditions to prevent rust and structural issues.
Yes, a good supplier should be able to provide timber, composite, hardware, finishes, and advice, all in one place to make your project easier.
A local supplier understands WA’s climate, council requirements, and common building practices, which can make a big difference in the success of your project.
It’s becoming increasingly important. Sustainable timber options allow you to reduce environmental impact without sacrificing quality or durability.
It depends on the size and height of the structure. I always suggest checking with your local council, and a good supplier can point you in the right direction.
You’ll need a high-quality sealer or oil designed for WA conditions. Using the right product helps protect against UV damage, moisture, and wear.
Choose the right timber, use quality fixings, and maintain it regularly with cleaning and sealing. Good materials and advice upfront make all the difference.
Yes, recycled hardwoods are extremely durable and environmentally friendly. They also offer unique character that new timber often doesn’t have.
Absolutely. An experienced supplier can guide you on materials, quantities, hardware, and even design considerations to avoid costly mistakes.
Look for experience, quality control, product range, and willingness to help. The best suppliers don’t just sell products, they help you get the job done right.
“It is very a rare and beautiful thing to be so warmly welcomed into a business by the owner operator and have them be so generous in sharing their time and wealth of knowledge on timber, preparation, finishing products etc. The selection of different woods, sizes and alternative materials is fantastic and the pricing competitive. All with the added bonus of being able to take away samples for viewing in-situ. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Paul (Timber Decking Supply Shed) and can’t wait to work with him on my upcoming pool/verandah decking.”
